OK, we've all heard the noise. The Reverend Jerry Falwell is finding queerness just about everywhere, whether it's a psychadelic kid's show or the Nation of Scotland. We here at And The Horse You Rode In On get the feeling that, perhaps, there's more to this phobia than meets the eye. What is it about homosexuals that bothers the Good Reverend? That it's forbidden in Deuteronomy? Actually, the King James version says it like this: "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination" (Leviticus 20:13). Now, we know that it's physically impossible for a man to lie with a man as he does with a woman, 'cause the anatomy just don't work that way, if you see what I mean. Unless, of course, this is an injunction against men having anal sex with women. Think about it. In any case, our real beef with the Reverend is not his obsession with this particular passage. It's the fact that he completely ignores some of these other laws (which all also invoke the heavy word "abomination":
