The Zip Code Project. When I looked for a source of city/zip-code mappings, I discovered that there were a lot of places to buy the info, but no free sources. Here's my solution to that problem.

The Shared Treasury And Secured Hoard (STASH). This project was superceded by the Free Network project, but you can look at the early thoughts on the matter...

This code, the Generic HTTP-Enabled Application Responder grew directly out of work I did on the STASH. It's basically a collection of simple classes that you can use to Web-enable any application that can be run in a thread. It still requires that you write formatting and/or interrogation functions, but it could save osme time... It also comes with some convenient classes for maintaining run-time metrics. Remember, it's not pronounced "Fear" for nothing!
